Commitment to Access

Accessibility Statement

UPLIFT'D is committed to making this website accessible to everyone.

Accessibility is not a feature. For an organization built around disability justice and equitable access, it is a core responsibility.

We are working to ensure that this website meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We know we are not perfect. We are committed to continuous improvement — and to hearing from you when something doesn't work.

Our Standard

WCAG 2.1 Level AA

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

What We've Built For

Accessibility features on this site.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements — links, buttons, forms — are accessible via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible throughout the site.

Screen Reader Compatibility

We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and proper heading structure to support screen readers and other assistive technologies.

Alternative Text

All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked appropriately so screen readers skip them.

Color Contrast

Text and interactive elements are designed to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios: 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text.

Heading Structure

Pages use a logical heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3) to support navigation by screen reader users.

Accessible Forms

All form fields have visible labels, clear error messages, and are navigable by keyboard and screen reader.

Responsive Design

The site is designed to work across devices and screen sizes, including when text is enlarged up to 200%.

Known Limitations

We're still improving.

We are a small, early-stage organization. While we are committed to accessibility, we may not have caught every issue. We are actively working to identify and address gaps — and we rely on feedback from our community to do that well.

Accessibility Feedback

Encountered a barrier? Tell us.

If you experience an accessibility barrier on this site — something that prevents you from accessing content or completing a task — please let us know. We take every report seriously and will work to address it.

You can also request an accommodation for any UPLIFT'D program, event, or communication. We are committed to providing access in whatever form is needed.
